Who we are
Marcean Ltd (company number 13080774, registered in England and Wales) operates the MARCEAN service at marcean.com. Registered office: 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE.
This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use the MARCEAN service or contact us.
What data we collect
Account data. When you engage us for device management services, we collect your name, email address, company name, and billing information.
Device data. Through Jamf Pro, we collect hardware inventory (serial numbers, models, OS versions), software inventory (installed applications), and security configuration status (FileVault, firewall, encryption status) for the devices we manage on your behalf.
Communications. If you email us at hello@marcean.com, we receive your email address and any information you include in your message.
Scoping and assessment data. When you request a scoping call or a quote, we collect your name, email, company, current MDM platform, identity provider, approximate device counts, BYOD mix, compliance drivers (e.g. Cyber Essentials, DfE standards), and token expiry dates. We use this to scope the work and produce a fixed-fee quote.
We do not use analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies on our site.
How we use your data
We use your data solely to:
- Provide Apple device management services — migrations, compliance readiness, education deployments, configuration, monitoring, and securing your devices
- Scope engagements and produce fixed-fee quotes
- Respond to enquiries and support requests
- Invoice and manage our business relationship
We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Lawful basis
Our lawful bases for processing are:
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) — to provide the device management services and migrations you have engaged us for, and to take steps at your request before a contract (scoping and quoting).
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — to respond to business enquiries and communicate with you about our services.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies. No session cookies, no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies.
Data retention
We retain your account and device data for the duration of our engagement plus 12 months after termination. Email correspondence is retained for 12 months after the last contact. If you request deletion, we delete your data within 30 days.
Who we share data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Your data may be processed by:
- Cloudflare Inc. (our hosting provider) — as a data processor, under Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum incorporating Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Jamf LLC (our device management platform) — as a data processor, under Jamf's Data Processing Agreement.
We do not engage any other third-party processors.
International transfers
Cloudflare Inc. is a US-based company. Transfers are governed by Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum incorporating Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and UK Government. Jamf data transfers are governed by Jamf's Data Processing Agreement. No other international transfers occur.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Request restriction of processing
- Request data portability

Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the effective date at the top will change. We encourage you to review it periodically.
